For the past year I've been playing this rather addictive turn-based strategy that takes a lot of ideas from the Heroes series into the ultimate single player turn-based adventure game. If you're patiently waiting for Heroes VI, try this game out, you will end up killing weeks or months of your time obsessively playing this game!

5000 games, Tournaments Continue Along [12/02/08]
ToH hits a H5 milestone in games played, Caesar Round 2
The Caesar is now in round 2, where top players Kispagat, Strider_HL, Jorko80, and Firedragon_008 fight for the ultimate Caesar title. Who will move to the finals? Clans, Hero, and Warlords continue as usual in season 2. A slow going heroes5 finally has 5000+ games played in ToH, which is nice to see.

Season II ToH Has Now Begun! [09/01/08]
All Rankings Reset, But All Winloss Records Remain
Today begins a new season, so all ranked players are now reset with 1000 points. You will not see yourself on the rankings until you have a game submitted, but looking yourself up will show all your records intact (winloss, maps, opponents, medals). Also visit the History page for screenshots of all of Season I records. Let the gaming begin! Several new tournaments underway.
All Baron ranked and higher have received dragon/wyvern icons representing their Season I status along with associated prestige points.
Also Congrats to Strider_HL for being the top ranked player in Season I, at 2190 points! He wins the Grandmaster medal along with a $250 cash prize.

The 3.1 Tribes of the East Patch Now Available [08/20/08]

Good timing on the latest Patch, since ToH Season II is right around the corner! The patch updates & improves the Random Map Generator, along with bug fixes, some balancing issues on towns & creatures. Its strongly recommended to start playing with the 3.1, and get used to the differences. There will be a random map tournament starting in Season II as well, for those who like a fresh game every time, without the whole grip of memorizing maps.

Caesars Finals, & Our New MVP [07/08/08]
$1000 in Cash Prizes to be Handed Out, Congrats to Our Most Valuable Player
Congratulations to Vex, who is one of our greatest ToH Veterans, playing in the tournament for over 8 years now. He wins one of the most coveted awards, the Most Valuable Player. What does it mean? He has been an example of one of the most honorable players in ToH, and a heroes addict too. He also wins a $250 cash prize. He now is the highest ranking player in the Hall of Fame.
The Caesar finals now begin, with the Emperors battling it out for supremacy as the 'best player in ToH'. Randomly matched up, eventually one player will hold the Caesar title. $500 cash prize is also awarded.
Seasons' End will Be August 31st, where the Top Ranked player will also win the Grandmaster medal, along with a $250 cash prize.

The ToH MoD [04/18/08]
A 'ToH Patch' In the Works, Even out TOTE Imbalances
Initiated by ToH member Strider_HL, the idea is to make a MoD/patch that would modify some of the more egregious imbalances. Some of these imbalances (eg. Stalker's Invisibility) can be taken advantage of in ways that the developers did not forsee. Since we won't be expecting anymore patches soon, this is the only way of ironing out the 'bugs'. Clans New Season in March [2/5/08]
New Revised Clan System For Current Activity Status
On February 24th, the current Clan season will end, and a new Clan season begins on March 1st. A certain percentage of points will be carried over to the new clans, given to individual members of the clans themselves (should they choose to start a new clan without their old members). The clan system will be more activity-friendly since the original clan system was devised for 100's of active members. Also ToTE factions will be incorporated into the new system. It will still remain as 3 members to a clan.

A Final in the Heroes V Saga -- A Complete Game: Time to Play!
Any of you who are still stuck to Heroes 3 or 4, there is no better time to buy this expansion. Its stand-alone, so you don't need the original Homm5, and we can truly call this version the complete game. Its even cheaper than the original. Now there is 8 factions, and 3 unit variants, and every key feature we have been asking for.
Clans players take note you can play clan games as Fortress or Stronghold regardless of your clan affiliation.

Guide for Newbies to Start Playing in ToH [07/17/07]
For Those of You Who Have Just Registered, Wanting to Play
First of all, you'll need to install msn (don't ask for icq or yahoo when the whole ToH community is using msn to communicate). Then in this thread there is a whole list of players you can add to msn to look for a game. Then go to Hamachi download version 1.0.1.5 (895 KB) of Hamachi, and never update to ensure no desync problems. Being new to online games, first few games for new players usually ends up in a horrible thrashing, after such a loss, newbies tend to give up which is sad... After few games, take experience from the older players and you can start winning. So don't give up!!!
Try to get yourself a clan , (3 members/clan). Will get a game easier this way. If you have problems getting one, you can post "looking for clan" in the forums.

	Heroes III & IV Integration & Some New Clans Awards [02/18/07]
Heroes III AND IV Players Can Now Participate in Main Rankings After multiple requests on the ToH Message Board for ToH to support Homm3 & Homm4 players, an arrangement has been made to support them on the Main Rankings. Veteran players who are already registered contact Vesuvius at admin@toheroes.com to have a HIII or HIV icon placed next to your name. Newly registered heroes III & IV players can ask for the same. Win/loss reports are done in the same manner as for homm5 players, but select Heroes III Map or Heroes III Random Map for map selection, and Heroes III Game for Subtournament option... or Heroes IV Map & Heroes IV Game. Homm5 Clan players now have a few prestige-related medals being handed out... ->

2 New Tournaments, Maps Page Updated [02/09/07]
Speed Deamon & Hero Tournaments, Maps Page Upgrade
The long awaited Speed Deamon tournament is now open, where 'fast paced gaming' occurs at 1-3 minute time limits. Then in another style of play, The Hero tournament forces the player to play only with one hero. All subtournaments including Warlords can now be played for Clan points as well. The maps page has also had a little facelift, and new player made tournament-style maps added.

Patch 1.41, 2.01 Available Now [01/30/07]
Balance Changes & Multiplayer Improvement
With this update, we expect less desynching problems -- perhaps eliminating the problem once and for all. Some balance changes are made as well, such as limiting the volume of training on Haven troops, and an entirely new system for Necromancer's raising undead armies. Improvements in the Random Map Generator as well. You can use your autoupdate program or download the patches directly from here.

Clans Now Open... New Chatroom [01/08/07]

Because of UBI's user-unfriendly chatroom for in-game chatting, a new ToH chatroom has opened (button to the right) for an easier meet & greet for players. It is recommended to enter the chatroom with the username you have on ToH.

Heroes Clans is now open, 3-player Clans (Teams) may sign up as long as they are footman ranked or higher. Congratulations to Valentin, who now is our first Lord ranked player, and Cycleguy who steals Karim26's addict medal to become the new Heroes Addict Madman.

Dedicated Homm5 Players [12/21/06]
Heroes Addict Madman Medal & New Maps
Congratulations to Karim26, who has now surpassed 100 games played for homm5. A true addict indeed. So he wins this rather ugly medal... but it carries a lot of history and prestige :)
Its a medal that is easily stolen, however, as others are not too far away from stealing that title from him. As of this point, Cycleguy carries 98 games on record, Mjr_Gamer 89...
Thirteen new Maps have been added to the maps win/loss reporting list; 9 UBI maps from the HoF Expansion, 3 player-made maps, and a listing for the Random Map generator.

1000 Games [12/04/06]
A Milestone in Homm5 Gaming
ToH has finally reached that 1000 games played mark; though it is impressive, it is insignificant compared 2000-2002, in the homm3 gaming peak seasons. Why? Well, from the multiplayer-unfriendly versions (until the 1.3/1.4 patches) and the Ubisoft matching room not being as friendly as the homm3's MSN zone. Activity can only go up from here, and it has. Will Homm5 ever achieve the activity levels of homm3? 2007 will tell. Speedeamon & the Hero tournaments are still on hold, but voice your opinion in the forums if you want any of them open NOW.
And in a sad note, one of our veteran players, who played in ToH for 4 years -- Bossbodiddly passed away recently. One of those members who makes ToH a solid place to play homm -- by playing with honor... and really enjoying the game.
